Amy Lou Adams Amy Lou Adams (born on 20th August 1974 in Aviano Italy). American actress. Known for playing naive charming characters. Adams was was raised in Castle Rock Colorado, as the youngest child of seven. Her father was in U.S. service in Italy. In the late 1990s, she started performing professionally and dancing with Boulder's Dinner Theatre and Country Dinner Playhouse. In the following year in Minnesota, at a local theater, she was chosen to be a part of a mock film documentary on beauty pageants titled Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her screen debut was as a bright-eyed but sweet contestant. After that the move in Los Angeles in order to pursue a career acting. She is also the mother of Kelly Curtis & Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh's film career began in the late 1940s when she was hired by MGM. Her name was discovered by Norma Shearer. Through the 1960s, she appeared in popular films such as Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho as well as Living It Up.
